Kindergarten board-games

The Kindergarten curriculum is composed of games and play. Various board games are used in kindergarten classrooms. Board -games simply mean indoor games played using a board. A lot of board games are available to buy, also teachers can customize board games. 

Advantages of board games

Board games are not some games: they have many benefits for child development and learning, board games are used to teach the Alphabet and numbers.

The board game is engaging and effective in early number sense development. Board games help to develop the mathematical abilities of children.

The game also empowered children to take charge of their learning. Children will be intrinsically motivated to learn math. In playing the game, each child can learn at their own pace. And since it was a social game played in groups, children also learned how to collaborate with others. Also, they learn to exchange knowledge with each other, through imitation and peer tutoring.

Zingo

It’s Bingo with a Zingo. Zingo is a fast-paced matching game for early readers. This game enables them to match the pictures to the words in their zinger tiles.  Players take turns flipping over tiles and matching pictures and words to fill their Zingo! card. The first player to fill out their card and yell Zingo wins. this matching game builds language skills through fast-paced play. 

Sneaky snack squirrel 

Sneaky snack squirrel is a famous board game: which teaches them about social skills, waiting their turn, being patient, and improving hand-eye coordination. Also helps in perfecting their gross motor skills.

Guess who

Guess who is another simple board game, it consists of various cards and kids need to guess what was in the card. This helps to learn language and vocabulary.

Candy land

Candy land is the most simple board game, a kid who can’t read can also participate in it. It helps in color recognition for young kids.

Hiho Cherio

It is an Upto 3-player game, with three different colors of trees and a spinner given.

Kids learn to rotate and spin the spinner, which improves their motor skills. And pick apples from trees which help in color recognition.

I never forget a face.

It’s a little matching game, This includes many different faces of humans and kids need to match the cards with the same faces.

Shoot ladders

It’s a simple game, the player moves according to numbers on the dice and whenever gets a ladder climbs more.

Spot it

It is a fun game that helps in developing visual discrimination skills.

It is available for different age groups. Two cards are drawn, and the kid needs to spot similar objects on the card.

Count your chickens

This game helps to improve the counting of kids. The objective is to return all the chickens without being caught by foxes.

Scrabble

This game is to improve vocabulary and spelling. Scrabble letters are given to students, and they need to make words out of them.

Board games are a necessary part of the kindergarten classroom. These are not only for fun but also help in developing social skills, motor skills, and overall child development.
