My journey into creating educational resources

Everyone's journey in life and career is different. Once I worked at a university where I taught the Finnish language. My students were fresh school graduates, a bit younger than me at that time! Finnish is a very difficult language with massively complicated grammar (especially on advanced levels when students study complex syntax, participles, and infinitives), so there were never enough exercises for drilling tricky grammar topics. The only solution left for me was creating worksheets myself.

That’s how I tried myself in this area. However, resources of those years were created in Word and had no clipart! They were simple but highly effective for my students! Now I feel happy when I suddenly find them working in Foreign Ministry or applying for different Master’s degrees in Finland (to study in Finnish, of course). I am proud that once I was a part of their life.

A lot of years have passed since then. I switched to teaching English, but I needed a lot of good worksheets for drilling grammar. That time I came across TeachersPayTeachers and got some worksheets from there! That is how I discovered the amazing world of TpT and educational resources creation.

Kids with learning disabilities always appear among my students, so I am used to dealing with them in the best way possible. Dyslexic students are my favorite ones! You cannot imagine how creative and gifted they are. However, they have special educational needs. They require accommodations in reading, spelling, and timings.

I understood that there were not enough materials to teach them. There are several reading programs for native speakers, but there is absolutely nothing for EFL (English as a Foreign Language) students. I was desperate.

I started working on my Dyslexia resources and adding them slowly to my store. My tiny Mind Tree Class slowly began to grow. As of now, I have 330+ resources and 470+ followers. I get good and excellent reviews more often now. Some teachers contact me for customized worksheets. I consider this my teacher and content creator victory.

I am happy to see how my resources help teachers prepare quicker for the classes and dyslexic students succeed in mastering tricky English spelling and reading.

My no-prep printable resources are my creative outlet and my passion. I love creating high-quality black-and-white worksheets for students. I like using beautiful clipart to make my printable resources look super cute!

It is my journey into the world of educational resources creation!
